Newport State Park, Door County, Wisconsin, 9/17/08

When I saw what the category was for this week, this is the photo that I thought of.  The light is the sun, not a star — though the sun is a star — and the bird is a seagull, not a dove.  Nonetheless, the image just fits the topic, at least for me.

This is my first Photo Hunt post in several months.

Skinny Photo hunters

The first time I went down this track,
Was as a kid in the early fifties.
The last time in September ‘07,
To see a lady now in her eighties
She lives alone at the end of this road
In her “home on the range” from the forties.
