The Gold Prince Mill, owned by Cyrus Davis and Henry Soule, processed ore from the Gold Prince Mine located in Mastodon (Placer) Gulch. A 100-stamp mill was built in 1904 at a cost of $500,000 and was the first Colorado mill with a steel superstructure. At 336 feet by 184 feet, it was one of the largest concentrating mills in Colorado. After six years of operation, it was dismantled and reassembled in Eureka to process ore.
